For the independent aftermarket, the MANN brand filters Flexline C 26 017 and C 30 030 have been used in Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class models. Among them, the C 26 017 air filter is suitable for gasoline engines and the C 30 030 is suitable for diesel engines. In addition, next-generation flexible form filters developed for other car manufacturers are also planned.
Although rectangular, trapezoidal, and straight-sided polygons were once the predominant design for flat air filters, the mann filter Flexline can also effectively use the installation space with a curved profile. "Compared with the traditional design, our new air filter can cover a larger filter area, so as to achieve higher separation efficiency and dust holding capacity," Daniel Schmid, developer of air filter products for the MANN+HUM automotive aftermarket Say. “The shape of the Flexline air filter is designed using cutting-edge laser technology, which means that we can make almost any shape that cannot be accomplished with traditional methods. Mercedes-Benz is the first car manufacturer to use MANN+HUMMEL as an innovative solution and is using this solution as the standard for its MFA2 (Modular Front End Architecture) platform. Therefore, MANN+HUMMEL's new air filter will be used in almost all four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines in Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class and its future derivatives.
MANN+HUMMEL has submitted patent applications for the manufacture and design of the Flexline air filter to the German Patent and Trademark Office and other countries.
