Case acquires Italian excavator manufacturer Sampierana, supplying products to the North American market.
CNH Industrial, the parent company of Case and New Holland Construction, has acquired Italian construction equipment manufacturer Sampierana SpA for a total of 101.8 million euros. CNH said that Sampierana's products will be available in North America.
It is known that Sampierana was founded in the 1950s. Initially, it was a steel processing and tractor repair shop. Now, it specializes in the development, manufacturing and commercialization of construction equipment, landing gears and spare parts. It produces Eurocomach compact and medium-sized excavators as well as custom chassis. Picture: The factory of Sampierana in Modena, Italy
CNH stated that this acquisition will enable its construction equipment business to integrate Eurocomach excavators, Sampierana chassis and spare parts with its existing third-party suppliers into its current product portfolio. "More information will be provided once the acquisition and evaluation of the product line are completed," the company spokesperson said. "This acquisition is a supplement to the current OEM agreements."
Scott Wine, the CEO of CNH Industrial, said: "This latest strategic acquisition will further accelerate the profit growth of our construction equipment business. The outstanding product portfolio of Sampierana has strengthened our position in key market segments and provided our dealers and customers with the opportunity to access industry-leading products backed by our brand, distribution and manufacturing experience."
According to the transaction terms, CNH will acquire 90% of the equity of Sampierana and will gain full control of the company within four years after the transaction is completed. The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.
